Our Life

Don't live your life alone, go love all your neighbors. It's a big great world that we need to soon savior. It will be swept from our hands before we can count blessings think of the lives we change by the amount that we're spending. Go spread the word that times running out. We live on a clock we know nothing about. You only have so many days to discover your riches because in a system this big we need to be more than just glitches. Explore deeper meanings and understand all prospectives. Don't be fooled by the lies and sold misconceptions. We have bigger hearts that we want to admit, but we have to learn to give back before it's time to quit. So reach out to others before you need a walker to stand. Give to others in life early so later they'll too lend a hand. We can travel the globe while standing in our lawns because the use of cellphones is not yet frowned upon. Use your mind to do well and always work your hardest because later in life you won't make

Hopeless

Help me find love in the darkness of night. Swallow the arrow of Cupid's own bow. Silence your mind at the break of days light.

Snapped Strings

The feelings take by storm all quivering hearts. Each snap pulls strings attached to my being Into the air it flies...worrying starts As trust is placed without guaranteeing. Our teams we choose whole heartily transform the judgments made of other colors worn. In homes we gather weekly to conform to hate the teammates failing to perform. But for the love of games we choose to stay supporting friend's and family's favorite teams. For this is what consumes us each Sunday. That flying ball represents grown men's dreams. Dawn our colors without a second thought. Those jerseys make us someone we're not.

Shadow Space

Slowly like a predator waiting in the shadows you crept up on me Attacked me You tore me down just to let others pick up the pieces. But It began to lighten Every time I was laid on that silver table Every time I saw that light above my eyes Every time someone stopped by to stay I love you So much Has happened But you've drawn me to you Despite your malicious tantrums and you're destructive hand holding It really breaks my heart to know that they're only here for you But deep down I always knew that the cancer killing me is what I've grown most fond to.

Chops by Stephen Chbosky

This is not my poem. Stephen Chbosky wrote this and it is in the book The Perks of Being a Wallflower. I just really love this poem and feel that more people should read it. Enjoy. CHOPS   Once on a yellow piece of paper with green lines he wrote a poem And called it “Chops” because that was the name of his dog And that’s what it was all about And his teacher gave him an A and a gold star And his mother hung it on the kitchen door and read it to his aunts That was the year Father Tracy took all the kids to the zoo And he let them sing on the bus And his little sister was born with tiny toenails and no hair And his mother and father kissed a lot And the girl around the corner sent him a Valentine signed with a row of X’s and he had to ask his father what the X’s meant And his father always tucked him in bed at night And was always there to do it Once on a piece of white paper with blue lines he wrote a poem And he called it “Autumn” because that was the name of the season And t

Time

If there was a change in time the nights would be richer. The moon would shine bright and the air would be thicker. The clocks would seize time as I snatch up the seconds but your life would go on as I forget to grab minutes. And as if it all disappears in the hands of time, you see it all in reverse and me losing my mind. The years merge with days and you can't tell what's different. You've lost track of time though you try to stick with it. But you realize your mistake of keeping it locked. It's crazy to think you can stop time on a clock. So you let it fly free, all these things in time because you start to see what you couldn't with it all side by side. You learn life makes sense when it's going by slow. It's lived forward but comes together when you let go.

Human

I am a human a post office sender church parish member a student of September who thinks of the nights that shouldn't be remembered I am a human a sleeper a keeper a late night ice cream eater A dreamer of dreams A be-er of be's I am a human a faulty mistake a daughter that takes a smile that fakes when the heart starts to break I am a human a spiral out of control with a mind a half stole like an avalanche starting to roll a disaster taking it's toll I am a human I'm a figure in a window finding time to go fast but love slow Like a poem you know but don't want to show the fear of letting go of self confidence that's too low I am a human in a world that is forming me creating me breaking me and remaking me into anything but A human.

Noises

This world can be quite loud for those who choose to remain voiceless. The sounds come from all kinds of big and small voices. But there are also noises that feed into our purpose that weigh with more meaning than what’s heard on the surface. Boom boxes carry lifelines without volume limitations that can beat louder than a flat line with no heart palpitations. We’ve voiced ourselves in world wars and fights for integration. But we’ve lost the sole purpose of all communication because the noises we hear no longer include conversation. And without speaking to you I feel the weight of 3 nations relying on my voice to announce to all creation “I’m Here.” And I’m ready to listen to the words that you spill with all kinds of intentions. Their meaning to you is all that needs to be mentioned for me to hear you and say “I can follow your direction.” But, is it my turn now? I’m ready for the words held within to come out. I ha

Drive

“You’ve been doing a lot of traveling Gab.” “Yeah.” But i don’t mind the car rides or the traffic jams and i actually like the simple complexity of passing in the left lane and cruising in the right. I find peace in the journey. Counting cars on the highway…wondering if they're from out of town or just trying to find a faster way to soccer practice that they’re already running late for. I always found it fascinating that the human race is so lazy that we’ve found ways to get around that don’t involve walking. I like walking, but driving…it will suffice for the longer distances. It’s like passing everything in fast forward. Since i’ve been spending so much time in the car I’ve come to love it. You see you can’t write while you’re walking and if you do it looks like you/re texting and that’s not what people should think of an intelligent writer. Texting is for the desperate and lonely…all too much like myself. It’s another lazy invention. Some would smack me for criticizing the
