Drive
“You’ve been doing a lot of traveling Gab.”
“Yeah.”
But i don’t mind the car rides or the traffic jams and i actually like the simple complexity of passing in the left lane and cruising in the right. I find peace in the journey. Counting cars on the highway…wondering if they're from out of town or just trying to find a faster way to soccer practice that they’re already running late for. I always found it fascinating that the human race is so lazy that we’ve found ways to get around that don’t involve walking. I like walking, but driving…it will suffice for the longer distances. It’s like passing everything in fast forward. Since i’ve been spending so much time in the car I’ve come to love it. You see you can’t write while you’re walking and if you do it looks like you/re texting and that’s not what people should think of an intelligent writer. Texting is for the desperate and lonely…all too much like myself. It’s another lazy invention. Some would smack me for criticizing the very technology that i use everyday…that I’m using right now…butI’m not criticizing I’m just thinking out loud. The car gives me a lot of time to think and some times it’s good and some times, there’s nothing worse. My mind works a lot like a car. If you keep at a steady 65, there’s really no harm done. Stay in the right lane and cruise through. But, as soon as i decide to speed up and pass other cars, i start to run into more problems until eventually i crash.
